stay healthy.. 'cause you can't afford to get sick?

I used to self pay my insurance. My insurance company was Anthem (in CT). I heard this recently on the news, and sure enough...

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has proposed increases averaging 23 percent and ranging as high as 32 percent for people under 65 who bought individual plans on their own.

if I was changing 'age range' it may well have been a 40% increase.

there is NO WAY I would have been able to afford this. I now have coverage through my job (we got funding for the company, knock wood, so we have a group policy).


of course, now I'm an 'untouchable' so Anthem would never take me back, anyway.

this is disgusting.

I think people who work in the medical field should earn a decent living, but I'm amazed that anyone would accept corporations running the system to maximize profit.

what' being discussed now in congess isn't health care reform

Nurses aren't fighting it.... doctors aren't fighting it.

It's not about "reforming health care".

it's about HEALTH INSURANCE REFORM.

and the only ones who love the corporations running this three ring circus are the profiteers :(

Isn't it horrible? My only health care at this point is "I'm in my 20's and pretty healthy, so don't break a bone". Super comforting. It's disgraceful to have 2 working, tax paying adults in the richest country in the world with no health care because none of their jobs offer it and they can't afford it.

it boggles the mind.

I love the way politicians are always crowing how small business are going to spearhead this recovery.. not at this rate.

My husband and I are just fortunate that after four years we got outside funding and can pay small salaries and insurance. We really 'stepped in it'. Last year was a different story

who knows what next year will bring :(
